So, i asked my dealers parts department for a quote to change out the tow hitch from a class II to a class III... $800, not even including labor... umm any other options? i read that it was welded on now. whats up with that? i tried searching on google for a hitch but nothing really came up... any ideas??

aftermarkets are definately NOT out the question.. thanks for the link, i think im going to pick one up soon.

I have the Valley Hitch on my 05 XLT. Part of it plugs into the 1.25 factory hitch, so it isn't as bad as one that just fits under. Also, it lowers the receiver somewhat to make it easier to tow.
Sorry, no camera for pictures.

What does the aftermarket one look like?

Why not go with aftermarket? I believe they attach below the factory 1.25" or incorporates it as a mounting surface..

I have an 06 with the factory Hitch and want to upgrade to the heavier Class hitch (about $135) . They say it mount UNDER the factory hitch. Does this look silly? I like the whole idea of the Factory hitch being hidden behind the bumper.
Does anyone have any photos?
Thanks
robert
