Cle Elum Meet Sept. 9-10

I'm easy. I might put in a special lib chit for that day too. I haven't decided yet. It all depends on the sweat levels of the upper chain of command that week. This would be a bad week to put it in.

Should we start a food list?

Are we making a dinner list or a everything list, im getting my luch and break. specilty food and i dont think you guys are going to want organic and soy.

I was under the impression that we would be having some type of BBQ one or two of the nights for dinner. That's kinda what I was talking about...

Same thing here, I figure we would do that for Fri-Sat and I think sun we were going to go somwere is what alb. suggested.

Gentlemen, I think you might be making this bigger that it really will be.

Sunday, we'll be going home :D

Firday or Saturday,,,,or both, if you want to cook over flame, there will be flame to cook on.

Burn cow, sheep, chicken, pig, salmon or some combination of all the above (Bratwurst) at your own risk. I wasn't thinking about much more than that  Maybe Kevin will let you put a potato in his microwave :o

Ok, I was uncer the impression that someone was bringing a BBQ

Close Call!!!!!!!!

So, shortly after Albinoable Snowboy, Motor Mutt and I were recconoitering the beginning of the 301 this morning, looking for camping spaces (more on that later).

We decided to drive up the main road a little further and found a spot where boy and mutt could plink around in shallow water and cool off. When time came to leave,,,,,,,,the truck WOULD NOT START! :fire:

Check fuses
Check MAS plug
Check chip
Tap on the top of the fuel tank (fat lot of good that would do since the fuel pump is at the very BOTTOM of the tank

Crap my pants a couple of times  Thinking about being stuck, 30 miles from civilization with a 7yr old and a 9yr old dog. No phone reception. S**t, what am I going to do now????

I can't tell you how sick this situation made me feel :banghead:

We get on our bikes but I know Trav will never make the 30 mile trip to Roslyn and I'm not even sure what I would do if we got there.

We're riding down the road and all the time I'm asking myself "am I making our situation worse?" (I know the answer,,,,I knew the answer as soon as we started peddling,,,,,,,,,YES!)

3/4 mile down the road we pass a camp site that 2 folks were coming out of on their 4 wheelers. That's it! I have to talk to them. Kindly they offered to tow us somewhere since I had straps. We waited for 10 minutes while they locked up their toys, Trav played with the 5 kids they had with them them we threw the bikes into the bed of their F350 and headed back up the road to the X.

I just had to try to start it one more time!!!

She started and my heart attack subsided.

That was one hell of a close call. I didn't have my tool box, no extra food, no extra clothes, no alternate means of long distance communication, we were screwed!

Once it was started, it ran fine all the way home. I searched the forum and suspect the Fuel Pump Relay. Needless to say, I have 2 new ones in the glove box right now. :D

Now for the recon report;
There is a big open spot less than 100ft off the main road that will fit 3-4 tents and Kevin's camper but it is dusty as hell.

Up the road about 500ft then about 200ft to the right is another, better site (at least for tents) that is about 100ft from the creek. There is room there for at least 3 medium sized tents and I think we can find a place to park Kevin.

Kev, you do have leveling jacks, right??

Between now and then, Trav wil be painting NWX paper plates to mark our spots.

Hehe you don't have to tell me....... I have had that feeling a few times on foot as well as in my vehicles miles from nowhere.......some how it always works out, but I go nowhere without the gear to live somewhere in any conditions for a few days or more.

So, moose and albino, you guys are going over early friday?

Diff Whack Daddy, you still planning for friday afternoon-ish??

Wait a minute, why?! If this terrain is more challenging that what you're telling me, we got an issue....

There are some dry water crossing ditches that have steep approach and departure angles. You will probably dig that brush guard into the far side of them. That is the worst thing you'll encounter,,,,,,,,,,,,,

except for the off camber stuff
