Whats the best way to clean the t-body and egr valve? What cleaner shoud I use? Thanks for the help.

to clean the T-body I have heard from others of a fine product called Powerfoam. I am still searching for such a product, but haven't found it yet. If I find it i'll let ya know where..also if anyone knows where to get it please reply...I have a local Track Auto and it didn't have it..also i have not been to Napa yet, but they might have it ???

I use Gumout throttlebody cleaner. I spray it in and use a soft tooth brush to loosen some of the crud, and then spray some more with the engine running as the directions say. Basically following my 91' FSM recommendations.

I have heard about good results from the power foam also but have no first hand knowledge... although it sounds like it would do a better job of cleaning the runners and lower intake manifold.

97V8 and Travis,

PowerFoam can be purchased directly from AMSOIL. Click on the link in my signature to go to the AMSOIL website for more info. It is one great product. We commonly refer to it as "tune-up in a can". Cleans the TB and the entire upper air intake system. Ford dealerships offer a Motorcraft product that does the same thing and will charge you $120 or more to do it.
