Hi first post been a lurker for a while, actually been looking at the forum
viewing the pages as plain lists of threads, not sure what that's called or
what form it is but I finally found the real forum (kind of want to know what that is if anyone understands that). OK that out of the way..

I got a 97 XLT about a month ago and it's in pretty good shape. I've done some basic things myself, new plugs, wires, fuel filter, these things were quite difficult for me, I'm not a super mechanic as you can tell, air filter (K&N) also removed the snorkel and shroud around the
headlight. Not gonna do the swiss cheese sorry, also did a hellish detail
job on the engine compartment you would all be proud of. Also just got
done cleaning the maf with contact cleaner. Now I'm in the process of cleaning the throttle body but I'm not doing it right or completely. Are you or are you not supposed to be cleaning this with it running? I thought you should like a carbuetated engine but it killed when I pulled the intake hose off, what should I be doing? thanks if anyone answers..

Nevermind anyway I got it. I think it was cause I had to pull out the wire connector in the intake hose to actually get it off the t.b., so I put it plugged it back in and started it with the hose off and it worked fine. Clean as a whistle now.. Now resetting the computer.
