Does anyone know of anyplace to get clear headlights for the 2001 XLT?

BTW: it's a 2nd gen not the 2.5.

I put in 8000K HIDs and I'd rather have clears, but can't seem to locate any.

Thanks!

Well, I hope your stock headlights are clear.:p

If you're referring to chrystal headlamps, there are none.

Har, Har...

Yeah the crystals...I saw a mounty with different lense enclosures...and they were better than the stock on the X. They actually looked clear (crystal'ish) and had a different prism cut than stock. I tried to get another look, but it was gone when I got back around to it.

:(

if you're referring to crystal clear diamondback or projector lenses for your truck.. I'm sorry to say that you/we are SOL on this issue.. they haven't made any and in my efforts to contact pro carparts and a few other misc. companies that make these lenses.. they say they have no plans to make any.. ever.. for the 2nd gen X.

sorry :(

i really wish they'd make some of these for us. the stock headlamps look so crappy now that i have the pro 90s in my airdam. its almost comical looking at the two next to each other

no useful info here, i just wanna agree that we need some sort of projector headlights or diamonds. the stockers are very turd-like once you start doing front end mods...

thank you father aftermarket. :flipoff:

I think the mounty's have better lenses than ours...I wonder change the grille, corners, and wella- sort of clears??

That's the only difference grille and corners...I wonder if the header panel behind the lights is the same.

Not that I really want to, but it's a thought.

They make them for older mustangs now too. Wish they would make a one piece so it could get rid of the amber over the headlights. X should have!

agreed..

I for one would love to see a 1 peice turnsignal/headlight setup with diamondbacks all over.. its not really an issue that we have 2 3157s and 1 194.. thats kind of overkill I think.

there was a thread earlier about retrofitting an F150 mountaineer combo into the trucks grille, but we noticed that the direction of the headlights were so far inward.. the beam would probablly too narrow.. that and the fact they dont make clears for the 98+ mounty.

I really think theres a lot of work that could be done with some bondo work and a few bracket changes, I mean theres a huge opening in the trucks fender for custom work but.. I dont think much would be feasible.

perhaps there could be a way to retro fit a new ranger headlight/turn signal setup into the grille with that bondo.. only down side would be those of us who dont want to have to paint our chrome grilles

I would love to see it

well you guys, I've mentioned it before and I'll mention it again. Find some companies that make clear/diamon projectors for other lights, and then pound htem with emails, letters, phone calls, whatever. If a company thinks there is no market they won't make something, but if they think theres a possibility for some profit, they will do it. FYI, not to rub it in but there are approximately 12 different styles of diamond or projector lights that can be purchased for the newer body style F-150's. Of which I've owned 2. LOL.

I know matt, thats what drives me nuts, cos I see far more explorers.. stock and modified, than I see modified F-150s, likewise with rangers.. yet I see WAY more parts for rangers And F-150s than explorers...

One particular company that I contacted was procarparts they told me they had to sell a minnimum of 500 or something like that to even CONSIDER making some.. they said selling any less the price would not outweigh the profit.. yea right..

I also talked to sylvania about their xenarc HID kit, they also said no plans of making them for an explorer.. again.. no demand, no plans of production ever..

I haven't talked to APC cos as a company I really dont like them, their employees are very rude on the phone...

but I would beleive.. to talk to APC.. they would most likley say that since the model of X we're talking about isn't the current model, they would have no reason to make them for them because in accessory years.. 2nd gen Xs are "old"

That might not be true, since they only just made them for the 87 to 93 mustangs and that was after ford stopped making that body style for 9 yrs. The last of these x are only 2 yrs old. Is'nt it the top selling suv in the whole wide world. How many do you thing is on the road today in north America. Not to mention mexico and south America, they would just buy all the lights too if they were made .:D
