click click in front suspension

Hello everyone, I have a 1998 XLT SOHC 4X4 (24,000mi.) factory tires, no modifications of any kind. Whenever the front suspension compresses I can hear and feel a click, click coming from the front, on both sides (laft and right) the same sound and vibration can be felt when rebounding, it doesn't seem to do it as much in the cold mornings. I was told it might be some kevlar patches? What this means I don't know, if this is true where are they, and what are they for and how do I fix or replace them? Any leads would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Ricardo
