When I apply the brakes I hear a clicking sound coming from the drivers side rear quarter panel. Is there a relay in there it sounds like a relay making up when you hit the brakes.

Yes there is a brake light relay in the rear quarter.

yes this is a brake relay. It does get on your nerves in traffic. What I do is turn up the tunes to drown out the noise

I have the same problem. Anything to fix this annoying noise. Also does this when my blinker is left or right. Thanks in advance.

It has the relays only if you have the trailer tow package.

How can I get rid of this annoying noise?

trailer hook-up

you know, mine only clicks when I have the wiring harness hooked up for the trailer. So, if the trailer isn't on, I disconnect the plug under the rear drivers side tail light.

If you have the towing package, then the way you can get rid of it, is just unplug the wiring harness from the car underneath. I bought a '91 that had a tow package on it, and had that click. I finally searched around under the car and just unplugged it. Mine went away. Hope that helps.

Does anyone know if there is a relay in there that supplies power to the trailer witring harness? I towed a trailer for the first time last weekend and used the wiring harness. Everything seemed to work great. Then all of a sudden I began to notice the clicking in the rear quarter panel and no power was reaching the trailer. All the lights on the truck work though. I spent a couple of hours trying to trace the wires down, but no progress. I may just rplace this relay anyway, it can't be that expensive.

ALso, does anyone understand the trailer harness wiring. Why is there 7 wires on the truck end and 4 on the trailer end. 4 (black, 2 orange and a purple) all have contunuity with the black graound wire at the trailer end. Green, Yellow and brown appear to be single wires.

Lol, sweet, I was wondering what that clicking was! :)
