You all were so helpful troubleshooting my FPR issue i figured you might have some insight on my new issue.

Now that the FPR was replaced I was able to go for a test drive and everything seems solid, till I jerked the wheel to the left and then back to the right. Doing this caused a clicking/popping sound from the front end. I couldn't tell which side it was coming from.

I recently replaced both CV axles and ball joints and verified they are all still tight. I plan to jack up the front end and turn the steering wheel back and forth to try and track it down. Any suggestions on what I should pay special attention to?

alignment? sometimes the passenger? side UCA (the 2 piece one) sometimes isnt down to spec and sometimes comes loose so it can cause clunking. Clunks While Turning Left?

if not, tie rods? or rack?

Get under there while a buddy turns it.

Slightly different design, but my mom’s expedition made a pop when you’d do that. Did it for a while. I told her to have the shop check it. They said it was fine.

The tie rod threads corroded and the ends were slowly working their way out. Not unscrewing, just slowly pulling the rotted threads out with each pop/click/clunk.

She was backing out of the driveway and the left wheel fully disconnected. Thank god not at speed.

I remember getting home one night and my truck needed to be moved to let another car into the garage. My step dad went to move my explorer and minutes later im getting a knock on my door asking for tools. I got up went outside and saw my explorer right at the entrance of drive way with 1 front wheel sitting flat on the ground.
