Climate Control Panel

Hey all,

98 X 5.0L AWD EB. Driving home from the shop today when switching to different cooling modes on climate controls it stays stuck on air blowing out of the top of the dash. What carrot should I be chasing on this one? Is that little control panel replaceable if it is indeed the issue? Where would one go about getting it, because I can't seem to locate it on rockauto. Thanks in advance. But summer is around the corner here in Texas.

You need to look into the blend door or the blend door actuator

if by "top of the dash" you're referring to the defroster vents, you may have a vacuum leak. when you loose vacuum, the default setting is defroster vents. look for cracked broken vacuum lines (the hard black plastic ones tend to break with age) but any vacuum leak will cause this condition and it doesn't take much.
