I mentioned on the IVT thread, that I am having some Climate control issues since my update. I am bringing my car in for the transmission TSB on Friday and want to mention the Climate issue.

Can someone(s) verify this for me? As I recall, before the update, you had the option of toggling the Auto button off and on. Now, as soon as I turn the Climate system button on, the Auto button also lights up and doesn't toggle on and off. The only way to disable the Auto function now is to override it my adjusting the fan speed, etc. Is that the same for the rest of you as well?

My main concern is that the A/C comes on even when not needed in the Auto function. So, it can be 50 degrees outside, I have the Auto set to 72 degrees, and yet the A/C is blaring away, at nearly full blast. Brrr...
Anyway, would appreciate a few of you checking whether your Auto button toggles off and on and letting me know. Thanks.

It's always been like that for me, even before the update.

That alone right there is a problem. It should be 72 degrees in your cabin if you have the climate set to 72 degrees.

Get a thermometer and see what your cabin temp is and then show the dealer.

Perhaps your interior climate sensor is faulty.

I should add that mine will occasionally blow cold air for a few seconds then it stops.

I just tried mine in accessory mode since it is in the garage. The Climate and Auto do seem to be linked now. When Climate is pressed, Auto comes on along with A/C. Pressing A/C then turns that function off and the other two remain on. That is on my Limited. Not sure what you have as you have no Vehicle Specs listed.

Here's my climate screen on MFT that I've owned for 1 week.

Yes, the "auto" button puts on the air when needed and the heat when needed - depending on the temp set. (side note: if I push and hold "my temp" - it will set the memory with it. Haven't fully explored that one yet.)

If something is causing it to blow frigid air at you no matter the temp - then there's another issue going on. But here's the pic of my Climate screen:

On mine with the Sony touch pad. when the Climate is pushed, the Auto also comes on. When I reied it this afternoon in the garage, the A/C also came on but I just pressed that one and it turned off. My temperature is set for 70 degrees and it was nowhere near that inside or out.
I don't recall the A/C being on when I've been driving it though. I'll have to keep an eye on that next time. Since I don't know if Brenpatsa has an XLT or Limited, I don't know what setup he has. In any case, if the A/C comes on then he should be able to turn it off.
I just wish more people would fill in their info in the area Vehicle Specs if they don't tell us what model they own.

Thank you! That is exactly what I needed to know. I have a Limited as well.

Clearly there is some issue going on related to my temp. sensor now (it worked totally fine and was very effective for me pre-Update) but I was also trying to assess if the newly linked Climate and Auto buttons were part of the update for everyone (ie. an intentional change) or just for my car (part of whatever error is causing the temp. problem). Just trying to get some facts together before I talk to my dealer tomorrow.

Out of curiousity, I wonder what the thought process was in now linking the two buttons? Mmmm....

Out of curiosity, how do you fill in the Vehicle Specs area? I have that set to "Yes" on the About Me page but what else needs to be done?

I'm assuming this is open to all members.
Select User CP from the blue bar at the top of the page. Then in the Control Panel select Edit Options and go down to Thread Display Options.

Okay, here is how you do it, and I will say it is a pain in the butt to find where to put all of the info:

1. Click on your ID to open up your profile
2. Click on "Customize Profile". This can be found on the right-hand side of the area below your name. It is in very small type.
3. In "Your Control Panel" on the left-hand side of the screen, under "Settings & Options" click "Edit Options"
4. In the "Edit Options" window, scroll down to "Thread Display Options"
5. It is in this section you will see the input boxes to enter the information about your vehicle.

I have no idea why the vehicle info is there, because it makes absolutely no sense to be located there?!

Let me know if anything doesn't work or make sense.

I hope that helps :)

Jeez Peter! You beat me to it!!! Arg... :D
