Just a year ago I changed spark plugs and wires for a run we had here in colorado. When changing my plugs I noticed that one was slugged-up very badly like there was a clog in that cylinder. Since then I may have driven my explorer about 1000 miles and a few guys came to my attention that my engine was missing, so today I did the test to see if it was the wires and everything went as expected then I started to pull the wires with the engine running and the very last one I check was the slugged one from the prior year and the engine didn't surge like it did on the others but spark was coming from the wire (I felt it in my fingers) so now I assuming this cylinder is still clogged. back when I changed the wires before I added BG44k and used seafoam shortly after. What I want to know is am I gonna have to take my engine about to clean this cylinder up or what are my option? With all my mods I been assuming all this time my ex was fine and it still got me where I needed to go and it felt powerful enough to me.

So I'm the only guy here thats ever ran on 5 cylinders?

your not alone mine has the same problem right now.

The only cars I've worked on are my own, so I can not claim a wealth of experience. What exactly is a clogged cylinder?
The next step I imagine would be a cylinder compression test; more or less to differentiate between a piston ring problem or a more mundane cylinder head problem. There's always a chance of lower block or lifters difficulty. In either case you're pulling the head.

Just my opinion

A cylinder doesn't get clogged.. It sounds like you are fouling the plug though. This can be caused by a leak (oil or water) into the cylinder. It will then foul on the plug and it won't fire. The first thing you need to do is pull the plug, then turn over the motor a few times (you can use the starter, but I would disconnect the electrical connector from the coil so it won't start or fire the plugs).. That should blow any crap out of the cylinder..

Next, do a compression test and see if you have low compression on that clyinder. If it is low, drop a "little" oil in that clyinder and do the compression test again. If it goes up you have bad rings. If it doesn't go up you have a problem from the head and up.. (bad gasket, cracked head etc)..
