I have a 98 Explorer with manual cloth seats and would like to switch them out for Power Leather. Anyone out there had the experience of adding power seats to their Explorer? Any special relays needed for the seats or just a Power connection?

Thanks.

There is a cluster of wire coming up from my floor under the drivers seat. If you are serious I will do a little investigating.

Thanks for the response. I am going to do this, as long as I don't run into adding a bunch of relays etc. The seats that I am looking at now are out of an Eddie Bower, which probably has Memory through the key fobs, although I am not sure of that. If that is the case, there is no telling how many relays Ford used, I would not be interested in that part of the install though. The answer is I am highly interested in doing this as long as I can get the "power" portion of the seats to work and also heat, if that is on the seats I get. So any help would be appreciated.

I want to put the rear seat in backwards with a 42" tv in the cargo area. LOL!

With the way Ford wires these baby's, that may be easier than what I want to accomplish!!

2000 watt power inverter+42" TV (easy). Tailgate foot ball any where. When my friends have a BBQ I could just crash in the truck. LOL!

As far as the seat wiring goes I have no idea why there so many wires but I will find out. I'm sure its not unique to Ford. Other makes are a real PITA to work on. If there is a black box labeled power seat module then you might want to acquire that as well.
