I just got a 99 explorer 2 weeks ago. I was about 2 hours from home with a friend goin to look at a camaro in the country for him. A truck to a wide ass turn so i moved to the side of the gravel where the road happened to give way. The truck drove off leavin us 2 and the explorer laying almost on its side (A tree against the door kept all 4 on the ground barely.) when i was gettin pulled out we hooked onto my hitch. i noticed a slight pop but ignored it. Now when i hit small bumbs aka. speed bumps, rough roads, pot holes. it makes a load clunk you can hear easily. Is my hitch loose?? I bent the bottom lip of the bumper to get it off the hitch. This helped but still makes a hell of a noise. Any ideas? I havn't been able to really look at it with school and work. any ideas would be appreciated. If you floor it from a stop it may make the noise (only twice it has).

I think pics would be the only way to diagnose- it's hard to see the visual... and there is a lot of stuff back there it could be.

is it like a rattle or a clunk when you go over bumps? because i had a loud rattle and my sway bar connect on the driver side was like out of place. check that out
