So i've come across a new problem on the trac.
Okay, when i stop fast(ish) and then go or i back up and go in drive again i hear one clunk from the front end. can anyone tell me what this sounds like because i have no idea. I just had all my tie rod ends and ball joints replaced.

Im about to take this baby 5 hours away to college in Arkansas so i really need to know what this is. :(

Well Im taking it to my mechanic for servicing tomorrow so ill ask him then i guess.

Check your sway bar endlinks, shocks (bushings), ball joints (they've been known to be defective out of the box) etc.

Ive also had the endlinks replaced recently. I think ive narrowed it down to the bolts on my break caliper partially backing out. Its gone to the shop for differential and transfer case fluid and some seals so they are looking into that too.

Okay something is going on here and i really need some help figuring it out.

My mechanic couldn't find what was making the knock/pop/bang noise in my front end when i stop and turn some. I take it to the other guy that did my suspension because me and my mechanic thought something wasnt tightened or put on right. I take it to that guy and they look it over and nothing is loose and there are no wear marks where something has rubbed or hit. He looks at my body mounts and says they are the problem. I know they are in rough shape but the way its acting i dont think its the mounts and my mechanic (who is really the only person i completely trust with my truck) says he has never seen one act like mine is over body mounts but he can fix that. I got quoted from the local ford place $280 for the very front mounts and the mounts right behind the front tires. Im pulling my hair out trying to find out what it is and getting nowhere. Can someone please help me???

If its clunking when you acelerate it maybe a motor mount.

Its not when i accelerate usually, its mostly when i turn sharp or when im on my breaks.

Check out the rack and pinion bushings and the front differential mount and bushing. I've heard people having the same sound/ issue but couldn't pin point it until they checked those parts.

Thanks I'll check that out tomorrow morning. I just got home from a trip to Arkansas so the truck has been sitting since Wednesday.
The only thing is there is no vibration or jerk in the steering when it happens.

From what I'm told you won't have any symptoms other then what you've described.

Really? I'm going to see if my mechanic can take a look at it tomorrow. I just don't know enough about some areas of vehicles so ill leave this one to the professional.

This is kinda late but its not the rack and pinion and my mechanic cant find the problem anywhere.
I'm about to take a 5 hour trip to Arkansas going to college and i just want to make sure its safe.

Perhaps it is the body mounts, they have been known to cause a cluck or squeeks when they get bad enough.

I know the ones behind my front tires are bad but it does it when im stopped and turn the wheel too. Is it normal for that to happen when its sitting still?

While sitting still and nobody moving in the truck at all? That is indeed weird.
