Hello Everyone,
Just joined the forum and am glad to have found it.
I have an intermittent clunking noise that is coming from the rear end on my 1996 Explorer 2Dr 4X4 Sport with Control Trac.
The clunk is intermittent, happens occasionally like ever other day and when it does happen, it disappears @ about 60 MPH.
The intervals between the noise has no relation to speed, ie it is the same whether I am doing 20 or 50 MPH.
Did a dif. cover and swapped the fluid a few months back. Checked the fluid and the dif. is full.
No other noise coming from the rear end so I am suspicious of it having to do with the Control Trac.
Has anyone had an experience with this on their Explorer?
I would appreciate any feedback and look forward to being a Member of this Forum.
Thanks In Advance,
Dave
