95 xlt has an intermittent clunking sound at 5 to 15 mph. Sometimes it feels as though you are running over about a 3/4" pipe it makes the whole car 'clunk' but usually not that bad and disappears at higher speeds. A friend told me that it may be partly stuck in 4wd and that you had to drive backwards for a few feet to ensure it was disengaged. I did this and it made one fairly loud clunk and is better since, but still there. I had a look at the rear u-joint on rear drive shaft and it appears to have moved about 1/8" from where it is supposed to sit. That may be the problem but that may also be caused by another problem. Please help.
