I have a '94 Explorer.....stock....and i want to swap the clutch fan with an electric fan i have.....wondering if any ones done this and could give me a hint as to where i should mount the thermal sensor.....is there a spot on the engine i could easily mount it.....

I'm swaping it because my clutch fan bearings are on the edge of going.....

Second question would be is there a difference between a clutch fan for a standard trans vs. auto trans? According to the parts store there is and there's also a huge price difference! (one for auto trans is worth more)

Looking for answers....please help!

I love my electric fan as well, I went to the junkyard and pulled the fan off of a GM A-body (Celebrity, 6000, Cutlass Ciera, Century) and bought a flex-a-light adjustable control. it's much quieter and cools off in a hurry, had no problem with A/C and Texas heat either.
