Clutch problems

Last week I started having problems with my clutch. When I push the pedal down it's not disengaging the clutch enough for me to put it in gear? The only way I can even put it into first is by turning my explorer off... It's a 91 and I just put an entirely new clutch kit into it a couple months back. Any idea's what could be wrong?

Did you bleed the master cylinder. We did mine kast year and ended up replaceing the master cylinder.

I'll take a look and see if that might be it. Wouldn't the brakes be going too because the two systems run off the same reservoir? I haven't had any brake problems... Just wondering.

Sounds like the slave cyl.

The brakes and clutch do not run off of the same. They are seperate. Should be a small res just to the right of the brake booster and the master is below the brake master on the firewall that attatches to the clutch pedal braket inside the vehical.

Agreed about the slave cylinder. I replaced her transmission with a used tranny a few months ago. I took the chance, and got lucky, that the existing slave would work. The old slave cylinder was acting just as you are describing. You can try to bleed the cylinder, but they do ware out.
