Sounds good. the kit I have ended up using and approving costs about. 1500 not including tanks. It is OBD-2 compliant. WELL worth the extra money. first kit always set check engine light.

Anyone done a CNG conversion/add-on for your ST? I hear it's a fairly easy conversion. We have many filling stations in the Detroit area, so I'm thinking it'd be a easy (but a bit pricey) way to improve my cost/mile..
Any opinions, experience, or "don't do its" out there?
There is a couple fo things. First, DON"T use a fogger system on the Fuel injection system because it will ALWAYS set a check engine light and always has issues controling the idle. For example, say you're going around an on ramp from one highway to the other. When you take your foot off the gas it is an input to the ECM to shut off fuel. Well, if you're on CNG it does the same thing except it will die while you're traveling at 40+ mph. NOT safe. An injector system will compensate and react with the same speed as your primary ECM so there isn't a dying issue. In Tulsa there is a VERY good installation place called cng auto repair and conversions. Talk to Tony there. The installs are expensive but they only make about 2k per install and an install takes about 20 hours so they are reasonably priced. Kits and tanks are where most of the cost actually is. Their installs are NFPA 52 compliant which means you get a VERY reliable installation. If I did another one, I'd use them because they do it every day. I believe they will just sell a kit to you. Hope this helps.
It is light years ahead of the fogger system. It is an injector system and the processor takes information from the ECM of my Ranger! NO check engine lights and performance is perfect. I filled up the gas tank about 500 miles ago and the needle still hasn't moved. I have been running mainly on CNG except for starting up my truck! It is a lot more efficient and is a kit called autogas. I got it local here in Tulsa. I am not trying to sell for this guy but I got it from Tony at CNG auto Repair & conversions. You can look them up. They are legit. They will sell a kit to you. I would recommend letting them install it though they are really good.

I just joined and was interested in anyones experience with a CNG conversion to their Sport Trac. I'm considering the Millenium kit for my '03 ST and how their install went. THX - gary
