Cobra and Bullitt Wheel Offset Question.

The Mustang 17x8's are close to 30mm offset, not 25mm.

If you have 25mm 17x9's in the back, you have virtually the same inner clearance that I had with 96 Cobra wheels. Check the parking brake cable very carefully, and check it often. The rear tires will rub the cable slightly when going hard through a right hand turn.

When I started looking at fitment of 18's, I discovered the slight wear on my parking brake cable. I was able to gain at least another inch of clearance by moving that cable inboard of my rear strut rods. My 98 Mountaineer has an additional suspension member that most Explorers do not have. It is a rod that runs between the frame and the differential. My 18's are 35mm offset, I cannot use my 1/4" spacers in the rear, because there are not enough threads. So I have much more tire inboard of where yours are, but i have more room than yours does.

Keep an eye on that parking brake cable. Good luck,
