The other day the X was idling and began to run rough for a few seconds. The check engine light came on so I ran a scan and came up with:

"P0153 O2 sensor CKT slow response bank 2 sensor 1"

I replaced the sensors a few months back but the 98 is strange. The 99 and up call for a DY 847 but the 98 has two different sensors. I assume it is the same sensor but with different wire lenghts.

This is what I took out, appears to be original:

f88f9f472ea = DY843 lh long
f88f9f472ba = DY831 rh short

I bought 2 DY 831 and since I am not in the US I had to cut the cable on the one side and splice in the original wire.

Any suggestions? Also what is the bank 2 sensor 1 referring to?

Thanks
Scott

Scott, the bank 2 sensor 1 refers to the left bank upstream sensor. It's located on the left header pipe, and is the easiest of them all to reach.

Since you replaced the sensors a few months back, maybe you got a bad one? A slow response code usually indicates a worn sensor, but obviously they should last longer than a few months.....

I can't comment on the O2 sensor part numbers, but I think you're right, they are the same except for the wiring length.
