Anyone had any luck tracking down their own EVAP leak for code P0455, or do most people end up getting "smoked" at the dealership? Going rate at my local dealer for the smoke machine is $125.

Well, still haven't found the leak. Replaced the vapor canister purge valve (under the battery), but the engine light is back on. Thinking about replacing the vapor canister vent solenoid next (under the spare), or may just have to take it in for the smoke test...as I don't have the $$$ to keep replacing parts that may be working fine.

A new fuel cap solved mine; that's the most
common source of that particular code.

Thanks for the reply. I actually have replaced the fuel cap. It was the first thing i tried. Went with the motorcraft one from RockAuto. Is that the same one I would get from the dealership?

Motorcraft is what I bought, and it's most likely
what the dealer would sell you (at double the price).

Another thing to check would be the fuel filler hoses.
If you can reach them through the wheel well, maybe
squeeze and examine for any obvious cracks. Also
try tightening the clamps and see if that helps.

I have a 2017. replaced the fuel fiiler assembly since mine is capless. almost $700 into it and no joy. Tested the valve at the intake and it seems to be OK. Next its under the car for the canister valve. Yeesh. What was your final solution?
