Coil Spacers?

I was wondering if anybody could tell me what the coil spacer is and how it is intalled. all i have seen were these hard rubber pieces in between your coils. is that all the spacer is or is there any other methods of this? Also, what would have to be done to install these things? please let me know.

i can tell you. i did mine myself. you take out the coil spring and put the spacer in the bottom. you have to basically stand on the axle to get it to droop enough to get the spring back in. get the spacer from a 92 f150 2wd from a ford dealer. this does not go in the coil spring but under it, remember that. you need an alignment afterwards. with this you can get a 1 inch ish lift out of it. you will need a 1 1/8 deep socket to get the nut off the spring retainer on the bottom. just take all the weight off the front end by jacking up the frame. i have a set of coil spacers left over that bluedogbandit made for me, by the way. i am trying to sell them. look at my photopint site and there is a picture of the coil spacer installed.

how much would u want for them? or how much do they cost brand new? are they a good way to get an inch plus shackles in the rear? of are there any other options?

other option is to get a body lift. There's also a small suspension (1.5-2") lift from Skyjacker. On top of that you can still install coil spacers and shackles. BTW, part numbers on these spacers are: F2TZ5A307A and F2TZ5A307B. I finally ordered them today myself.

I ordered a set of those spacers last week and picked them up today. Does anyone know if you need to change the bolts or are they long enough?

I recently purchased a 93 xlt. I want to do some cheap lifts. I decided on going with a 2 inch body lift, a 1.5 inch skyjacker lift, and the coil spacers (and ?) lift. Thats 4.5 inches. What do I use besides the coil spacers? I mean how do I lift up the back? can I use the skyjacker lift and the coil spacers? Where can I get coil spacers? And how do I lift the back. Thanks!

One thing "93 & 96 EB & XLT" you can do is read again through this entire thread and write down part numbers for coil spacers. These you can get at any Ford dealer. Then you go ahead and order a Skyjacker 1.5-2" suspension lift. You might be surprised when you get it though since all you're gonna get is two coil springs and two add-a-leafs. That's all to it. Next order a body lift. There are two, 2" and 3". I'd go with a 2" since that will give you less headache with modifying bumper brackets (you can just leave bumpers where they're at) and no steering problems. Go for the 3" if you think you'll need that extra inch. To bring the back up a bit more (you'll have to do it since you have an extra 1.5" lift in the front) all you have to do is get some Warrior shacles for the rear. That's all! you're done.

ah, almost forgot, now you can go ahead and put some nice 32 or 33 inch meats on it.

I went with the Ford F-150 coil spacers from Ford. These are working great w/ no problems.
