Oh an the etching, if it did add HP my Ex would be one big piece of art and I would be going through Dremel tools like Kleenex!

The parts were not anything difficult to get, I just walked through Home Depot seeing what all they had and thinking "hmmm, this looks like it might fit..". But I bought a few feet of pipe for a margin of error. Then once I got those measurements right, I bought some hot water PVC and used instead. The one thing about the regular PVC, is that right near the elbow bending towards the MAS, it was resting on the radiator hose and started to warp from the heat, hence the reason for the hot water pipe! Have not had a problem yet! Here are the parts I used: starting from the MAS...
1. 3" to 2" rubber coupler
2. 2" 22 1/2 deg. elbow (I just guessed at the angle, it happened to be just right)
3. Hot water PVC pipe
4. 2" 90 deg. rubber elbow
5. Air fitting for the oil hose (do not remember size)
Then of course the cool tape (not shown) and all the fasteners to make it stay. Total cost was around $15.

see i'm not very good with creating things, so i'd probably mess up like 3 or 4 times, or i would just give up..

your not interested in constructing it for me and then selling it? i don't have the paients for it. i'd make it worth your while.

How is drawing air from inside the engine compartment considered a cold air induction? The factory intake in a '92 is at least pulling from the outside.

That is why I am trying to get mine design to either pull air from the stock location, or route it over the other side and get air from above or maybe below the charcoal emissions canister.

I am either going to trim the battery tray and support to give myself some room to route a pipe down, or cut the MAF sensor wires and rerout them. That is the downside to routing the pipe down the passenger side.

I may even just cut the whole battery tray out and weld supports for a new one loser down. I am trying to accomodate a second battery where the airbox was, and bring in cold air at the same time.

Even without the outside air from the stock setup. the cone filter makes the engine run much better. If you really think you need cold air and don't want to redesign the intake, some people just take a flexible hose from a clothes dryer and aim it at the new filter. Simple, yet effective.

i have the kkm intake and im not sure how everyone else installed theres, but whne i hooked it up i left the bottom half of the stock air filter attached. this way it draws air from the original location and the engine breaths alot better with the kkm filter.

I am thinking about doing something like that, but I'm having trouble figuring out where to have the air pipe get the air from. I was kind of thinking to lift out the battery and battery tray and run the hose under there, bringing in air from beside the right headlight.

Does that seem like it would work?

I have a question about the crankcase vent. Can it just be filtered with a small breather filter or does it need to have a higher than atmospheric draw on it (like on the stock pipe).
