www.volant.com has one for some explorer... not sure..... the only problem with having one custom made is that the different engines would limit the amount made and thus may not be cost effective.....
i would. as long as it was like the cold air intakes for the civics, neons, eclipses, etc... where it includes the entire intake tube and the filter. i hate the restrictive black plastic piece on the explorers.
I wanna get some plastic duckting custom molded to allow as much air as possible to get to the intake, also have to keep the heat away from the filter and duct. the filter has to stay high up so if ya go through water it wont get wet. I found a way to keep the heat away from the filter up top , its not 100% but I notice a very big difference, when the hot air is totally sealed out it should be awsome.... also wanna make some type of universal duct for other models.... ive been beatin the hell outa this one i made and its still perfectly intact. lets see where it goes from here.....
Hey Lizardtrac:
If I drive to Jersey and buy an alarm from ya, would you help me put on my lift kit, seeing as how we've got the same X and same grill?!?!
id buy one. i already have a a home made one but it looks ghetto as hell.what i would want would be say a chrome intake tube and either the filter relocated so its not sucking the engine air or have a cold air bax with a large hose that sucks up cold air
The only difference with cold air over regualr is the sound. I get great sound already with my ST, and i don't think i would need a cold air to get the growl like a honda rice eater would.
I would if it positioned the air filter away from engine heat. It would have to have some sort of enclosure. For now, I cut a big section out of the front of my airbox.
