No, this isn't a "which one is better" thread. I am currently seeing if a newer sport trac intake system will fit my '00 Explorer (no, no differences in gains; just ordered the wrong one
). Anyway, everything looks like it'll mount and connect fine, but the thing that concerns me is that I have two breather hoses that connect to my intake tube, and well this aftermarket one only has one. I have found the grommet I need at work that'll work and everything, but before I drill a whole I want to see if it'll mount up correctly. So basically my question is this:
Will leaving one of the breather hoses un-hooked cause any problems (running problems, I do not care about CEL/DTCs because I can clear those out with one of the scanners at work)? I will not leave it unhooked for a long time, just possibly 3 days (2 hr max running time). Let me know your opinions. I don't think it'll be a problem since it's just a breather and there's not a hole in the tubed (which is after the MAFS) and so it shouldn't cause it to run bad because of un-metered air.
