Hey everyone,
Just wanted some opinions on intakes...
Right now I'm running a KKM filter on my 99 4.0L OHV. I'd like, however, to get something to replace the whole intake arm and add a cold ar box. The three that I've seen are the K+N, the Volant, and the MAC. I'm kind of leaning towards the MAC because of the chrome arm which will look nice. How is the quality of the MAC compared to the other brands? Considering that it's cheaper, I want to make sure that the quality/performance will still be there.

Thanks in advace,
-Lloyd

Anyway...

Anyways, other than I did mention the Volant, anybody have anything?

Ya, save your money and use it on a different mod.

I don't think you would gain much hp going from a KKM to a cold air setup. I mean I think you would be better off modding something else first like the throttle body or getting a chip.

If you do go with one of those cold air kits I would avoid the chrome pipe, unless you really like the look and are going for looks over performance...because the chrome will heat up and pretty much negate any advantage of cold air you might be getting. Chrome looks pretty but it would be one giant heat sink. That's why I think you're intake is pretty much good with the KKM as it stands.
