when i first my truck in the moring it idles very rough.if i let it run a min or so it smooths out some what.any ideas.also does it if it sits more than 4 hours.dont matter what the weather is like.

a somewhat rough idle is normal on initial startup, especially for a 13 year old car. but if its pretty bad, you might benefit from a tuneup - new plugs/wires, oil change, maybe use a lower viscocity synthetic if you live where it gets really cold.

also, seafoam works wonders to smooth out idle and clean out all the gunk in your engine. for first time treatment, 1 1/2 bottles through the vacuum lines and 1/2 bottle through the gas tank should work wonders.

You may also have an IAC that is having issues (a search will show lots of info on it).. The IAC is used for the to-touch start and to lift the idle when the load demands it (e.g turn on the a/c). If the roughness is actually just a low idle then the IAC will be your most likely culprit.
