98 4.0 sohc cold start idle problem, bad gas mileage

180,000 miles...runs rough first start...then smooths out in 30-45 secs....idles pretty smooth when warm...get code bank 1 bank 2 lean...any ideas please ?? really like it but runs rough...thanks

Basic tun-up procedures first. Check plugs for signs of trouble (color and deposits tell a tale). Check for correct resistance the wires and coils. Clean MAF and IAT. Maybe run some good fuel injector cleaner in the tank. Replace the PCV while you at it.

Leaking intake gaskets are a very common problem on this engine. The gaskets are cheap and easy to replace. There is a TSB about this problem.

is this the problem ? i have never owned this motor before. runs rough at startup then smooths out, and bad gas mileage? idle jumps alil while warm too.. thanks for any help u may have.
