Cold Starts-Dealership Name

Went to my local dealership to find out my explorer EB has been running like **** in cold mornings.
Ford Suggestions: COld starts
Replace Upper/lower Intake O'l Rings
Replace Timing belt tensioner
Cost was 395.00
I told them thats to much.
I this something a novice mechanic can do?
And this sound about right?

sounds about right... depending on how much they charge per hour. It took them about 4 hours to fix this problem on mine... although mine was still fixed under the 00M12 service.... but I understand this service is free only if you're under 60,000 miles.

I asked my dealership parts guy for a M0012 or 00M12 Kit, and he no idea what I'm talking about, what gives?

If you are under 72K the fix is free for 00M12. You can call Ford customer service and have them talk to your dealer. Or maybe another dealer.

Anyway if you are over 72K here is the way I fixed the problem in this thread.
