Hello,

I've just bought a 97 Explorer and found that the seat warmers don't work. Is there a fuse that I should check? Any other ideas?

Thanks from Sweden!

i can't find any info for a 97 heated seats but did find for a 99. i have stuff for US and Canada models.

for a 99 there is one common fuse, fuse #2 30 Amp in the battery fuse box.

i hope this helps. also, what is the 10th digit of the VIN?? should be V for a 97.

you'll probably need to use a test light and check each fuse.

Thanks very much for the info - unfortunately the fuse was OK. What's the next step? Heating elements under the seat? I paid so little for the car, I can live with a cold bottom!
Yes the 10th letter is V.

as i said, i don't have a diagram for a 97 just a 99.

check for power at the switch. on the 99 diagram they are the GY/YL wires.

check continuity of the switch.

check for power at the heated seat modules, on the 99 they are Pin4 LB/WH

if you don't have power on one or more of these then use a test light and check each fuse.

For a minute there I thought this was a swedish **** link :p:

No but you can have pictures of my bottom if you help me fix it!!!

Little more help please!!

I have power to the switch in the centre console and the heating elements are whole, but there is no power going in under the seat.

here is the diagram i'm using. remember, it's for a 99 but should be similar with your setup. the fuses are different numbers and the wire colors may be different.

do you have power coming out of the switch??
