So I have been having issues with my X this winter. When the temperature drops to 10 or lower, it looses serious power and mpg. I always let it warm up and all, but even once the engine is up to temp it just is at a real loss for power. the colder it gets the worse it is: 10 degrees isn't too bad, 0 is getting worse and when it gets below 0 it just looses all power and is doing good to get 16 mpg @ 65mph. Any ideas whats going on here? My mpg will literally fluctuate 7-8 mpg in the winter vs. the summer (23mpg @65).
Now for some history: I lost my precats, they self imploded all the sudden (repair shop had never seen anything like it before- they literally failed within a 10 mile time) and plugged up the rear most cat. I cut the rear cat out, and left the others alone, put a pipe in there and got about 1-2 mpg out of it. this was at the end of last winter. I don't know if both pre cats are gone or just the one- the check engine light has been on ever since and got it scanned again today and it said

This was the only code.
So does this mean that just the bank 2 failed and if so could this have anything to do with my lack of power? I'm not talking about a suttle difference- I have never driven a vehicle this bad before- my 91 explorer never did this. It has trouble staying in od on the highway when its below 0. I know cars loose some power in the winter, but it shouldn't be like this. and like i mentioned, when the temp is above 20-30 it runs fine, has decent power like it should have. I wouldn't worry about this too much except for the fact that it didn't get above -10 for week and a half and it will be at or below 0 for 1-2 months here and its very annoying when i can hardly drive my truck. any ideas? anyone else drive their trucks in cold weather and notice this?
