hey guys, getting a security system for the X, school started today and i dont like the thoughts of someone messing wth my truck, also ppl at work like to have fun with the big rolls of TP lol... anyway is this one an OK choice? BullDog2030

thanks guys, Jake

Edit: also under the recommended accessories it shows a 30 amp alarm realy for $3.99 would i need this? should i buy it just in case? thanks again

No, no and no. Trust me, if you're going for an alarm system, get a good brand name.

Clifford, Alpine, DEI (Viper), CommandStart, all make excellent alarm systems. I used to have an alarm system that cost me $2000 installed (I had multiple interior sirens under the dash so loud that within seconds of listening to them with all the doors closed it would rupture your inner ear drums). A good intial investment (if you're having it installed by a shop, $300 to $500 is reasonable for the system + install) is the best way to go.

Please don't waste your money on this mediocre unit that you will definately be disappointed with.

It wont work well for you, the alarm will go off two ways (If it's like an older model I played with), it has a shock sensor (which is built into the unit, so you essentially have to smash the unit itself) and it will sense power draw, ie when your car doors are opened/interior lights come on. It would be nice I guess as a joke, but not really for much else. (The voices are hilarious on it, one that I played with had a help button that would actually scream "Help me, Help me, Help me" in a ridiculous voice)

o crap, no one responded before i went to bed so i made the order anyway, i think i will cancel it tho, thanks for the help, im looking for a decent priced one, can u buy them online or do u have to go thru a shop? thanks
