Common problems by year...

1996 XLT

130,000 miles...

You name it I've had it replaced:
belts
hoses
door latches
seat recline latches
Transmissions - 8 COUNT THEM 8 Transmissions!
various suspension pieces
ECU
4wd unit twice
couple hubs

Now it seems there's no power.

'94 4 Door
What I've done:
Front Door hinges
Tranny Flush
Powersteering Gear (leaked + too much play)
PS hoses
Brakes all around (warping, usual wear)

To Be Done:
Shocks
Sway Bar Bushings
Exhaust (cat is clogging, broken pipe before muffler)
Upper/lower ball joints

1994

Tranny
Brakes
T-Stat
Headlight

97 Sport 4.0l OHV
-power door actuaters
-front drive shaft replaced
-ball joints
-hub and bearing assembly
-starter replaced

93 XLT

Radius arm bushings - PO installed urethane, rides like a log wagon; I switched to Moog rubber

Driver's window motor failed - evidence it had been replaced or accessed once before

Gas gauge is totally whack

Thermostat Housing 163,000 Km

If it were made from metal it wouldn't have cracked, I prefer my engine components to be cast from metal. Repair job cost $500 incl labour.
