Compass Doesn't Work in 2011 Explorer

The compass in my 2011 explorer does not work. It used to always say south, but I took it to a Ford Dealer that made it say North but it doesn't work either. The vehicle is not equipped with Navigation. The problem was annoying before, but once I got the new update of MFT a whole quadrant is displaying a compass with no direction information. Very annoying.
Anyone know how to fix this?

Just take it in to your dealer to investigate

I have not read any posts about the compass failing to work. There are a few posts commenting about the way it works but none that I have run across with your problem.
This sounds like a 'dealer to fix' issue and they likely will have to call Ford.
Making it permanently read N instead of S is not a fix.

Would it be possible to take a picture of it and post it for us to see? Also, I have come across this one other time and a Master Reset fixed it. Here are the instructions:

MENU (GEARS) > SETTINGS > SYSTEM > MASTER RESET

My compass works, but not in the traditional sense. My compass icon is the ball floating in liquid look????, but it doesn't jiggle around an move like in a real one, instead it refreshes itself while you are moving.

Silly question, but could this be the problem? You 're not seeing it actually move? Or is it always on south or always on north in your case?

Dealer found out that my APIM module went bad. However when the new one was installed, they said that the GPS module is also bad.
Waiting on that part. Hopefully it will fix the issue.
