Yes, a small piece will need to be cut. I would recommend that you cut the piece last just to make sure that the 17' is enough for where you are mounting the amp. You can always buy a 1' or 2' piece if you need the whole 17' but you can't add it back on after you cut it.

Good point, makes sense. I hope I have no emergency questions as I'm installing this. This thread helped a lot.

Very old thread but informative with pics too. Question I have is: will components sound alot better than the aftermarket POLK 5x7's I currently have? I really like the looks of the flush mount tweets in these pics.
