I have been searching for a quality set for some time now. My Infinity 6.5 finally blew out a while back. They were 90rms. I'm wanting to find a good quality component set that will with stand my Cerwin Vega Stroker. Im not looking for an component set that offers good bass. I just want a set that will allow me to have good highs that will let me crank up my Stroker to put out its full potential. I have looked at the JBL GTI series 120rms-150rms. Very high dollar though. I have recently seen the MB Quart RSC 216 / 6.5 60-120rms. Im wondering if anyone has these. The amp im using is the RF Punch 401S Dead Link Removed

I think the xtant x-series makes some good speakers for sound quality.

Those are a 4" component set that run around 90w rms (same as your speakers before). The only reason I'm recommending them is because you have the bass to back them up. Plus they're sturdy and loud enough so you won't be at the threshold very often, if at all.

List for ~$450 a pair. You can get them on that page for $170.

I had some polk momos and they absolutly screamed. The 5 1/4"s could handle about 150watts but the bass wasnt great, the 6 1/2"s will really handle 200+. Trust me, they are some loud mofing speakers, so if you want crystal clear loud highs, momos are great.
Actually, they were the old ones... but I'm sure the new ones are great too, probably just cosmetically different.

I've got the MB Quart RSC 216's. They are are not as good as the old RSB series. (thats what I had before)
The RSB's were beck when Quart sold only two lines -
Reference and Q
I am powering them with a 150 x 2 rms amp. They handle it fine, although the amp's gain is turned down. (But I've got 4 volt imputs)

I would look at Diamond Audio and OZ Audio, and of course Focal.

All depends on your budget.

terd do you have any sites for diamond audio and focal? So do you not recommend the mb quarts? Also where is there a site for the polks i know circuit city sells polk but im not sure if they have the momos. My price range is about $250-300

Since we're talking about components. Has anyone heard the new infinity references? I bought a pair but wanna know if they're any good.

Infinity usually makes excellent highly efficient speakers, I bet they are a very good bang for their buck, I know people that have them, but I havent heard any in person.

So do you not recommend the mb quarts?

I recommend MB Quart. This is my second pair. They sound very good, handle power well (not alot of bass though). You can get the RSC 6.5" components for roughly $190 a pair online. I am just saying the Quart line has gotten watered down. There is something like 5 product levels now versus 2. If you have 250 to 300 bucks to spend, try Diamond or OZ. For the quarts, try getting one of the Premium or Q series components on sale. Try ----

I just picked up Focal Polykevlar 165ks and they are absolute musical bliss! I have honestly never heard a better speaker, home or car audio, anywhere. And you can find them in that price range generally speaking.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Focal!!!!
