My 97 5.0l Explorer sat for a long time. Got it running just fine. But when I put the A/C on max, it blows warm air. I checked the charge and recharged the 134a and no help. I believe the compressor is not coming on. I looked at the compressor and the belt is running, but there is an outer plate on the compressor that is not turning. I can easily turn it by hand, but doesn't start rotating automatically.
Any ideas? Where do I start? Budget doesn't allow for "point and pay" right now and I'm headed into the Nevada desert for two months!
