I have a 98' with an OHV, so basically the K&N filtercharger won't work with my explorer unless I buy the 230 dollar kit. Which includes a 40 buck filter, and an adapter that is probably worth about 2 bucks. So the guy at the parts store recommended possibly going with one of K&N's universal cone filters. I was wonder if anyone new which size to use, or if anyone new how to rig up an adapter to work with my explorer, I have the square airbox if that helps. Thanks

Try KKM True Rev. (http://www.kustomz.com/cat2.html). They have an open element filter very similar to the K&N for only $90. A lot of people on the site have it and swear by it. I'm going to get one as soon as I can afford it.

The KKM filter and adapter work very well and are very easy to install. You can't go wrong with one.

Good luck....
