Ok wifes car again, different problem.

The windows will not work by pressing the switch(es). Only way the windows will work is from the drivers master switch. This is a PITA, just think that if you have a passenger with you and he/she cannot put the window down unless you do it for them. I've checked fuses, relays and even pulled off all the door panels to check for broken or frayed wires and everything looks good. Only other thing i can think of that might cause this is the master switch itself on the drivers side but, Since i can operate all the windows from the drivers switch is there a chance its still bad? If not what other things can i check, change or buy?

did you check to see if the window lock was on? its on the drivers master switch. when it is on you can only roll down windows from the drivers side.

Does she have the window lock switch in the lock posistion? If so only the driver can control the winows. It's a safety feature.

Yes she has that feature and it wasn't in the lock position.

i would start by checking to see if you have power at all the other wndows with a test light. if not then keep working your way back till you find the problem. could be the master switch.

That's what has me confused. Say the master switch is bad/faulty, would i still be able to operate the all the windows and mirrors from it?

sometimes. ive seen it happen and have replaced them before because of it. i

Ok then test light it is, and if all else fails ... new switch

thanks Joe

Its your master lock switch. People have reported that debris falls into the switch causing the contacts to not function. Even though your have selected the "unlock" side, nothing is happening on the underside. Most people have taken the door apart, removed the switch from the group and cleans it... voila a working system again.

I will also give that a try too.

Thanks budwich.

i am having same problem as Ms_Lakmflx, but I can mess with window lock/unlock button on drivers door and somtimes windows will work from all passenger doors. What do you think is going on?

I will be cleaning out the master switch over the weekend along with some other stuff, and i will let you know if that fixes the problem but keep in mind that if this works works me, in your case it might not and you will need another master switch.
