Anyone know if a continuity test description like this one

Is the same for a 2nd generation explorer? I have the same colored wires but on the 2nd generation exploror the shifter motor is only used for range selection. I hope so I just took out my shift motor and realigned the position sensor until I got the condition described in this guide for 2wd on my 95 Explorer XLT 4 door.

Let's take a step back for a second... what's it doing or not doing in the truck, and why do you think you have a problem with the shift motor? Shift motor failures on a second-gen are exceptionally rare, because it's used so seldom.
