im gonna get a different person to back them taken out and see what he says about it all.. and go from there

Does it look like the spring lines up straight up and down on the shock? or is it bowed off to one side? To me it looks like it's bowed.
I'd say they didn't seat the spring correctly in the top cap.
See if you can get a pic for us in the daylight at the same angle as my pic.
It shouldn't be touching like that.

It looks like the spring was installed upside down, not sure, need better picture. That tire comes awfully close...

That may be exactly the problem, it doesn't look right where it seats into the top cap.

Also it looks like you took a pic from the back side, try one from the front like RB, much better and open angle, and yea now that he said that it looks upside down! Which could explain why it wouldnt seat...

Hey guys sorry it took so long!

My front looks very close to yours, but my control arm is missing the spring by about a half inch. My tire is also VERY close to the control arm.

Ill try to get a picture tomorrow, my cam is dead right now.

Thanks for responding, If you don't mind, yeah throw up some pics of yours, a half an inch is sure much better than his looks though, his is rubbing...

You guys have the exact same size spacers in the front, so there's gotta be something messed up with the install on Ford02EXP's.
Of course the reason my tire is so far away is because of the offset of my rims.

Something did not sound right to me about using a come along to force it back together. I can not picture in my mind how you could hook a come along up to do that.

I do not see how the spring could be upside down or unseated. You do not have to take the spring off the strut to do the install.

I think the guy who installed this for you does not know what he is doing.

yea i def dont think he knows what he is doing, he basically took my money and was like thanks! lol take my cash and dash! i got a good friend of mine that knows another all terrain guy that does some sick lifts and what not, im gonna go get my truck looked at by him on saturday and ill let yall know the details!

yea i totally didnt know my bro had signed up to this forum and I thought I was logged into his computer, so the message you see from madawg05, is from me. lol sorry about the confusion

I talked with a friend of a friend Curtis and he told me to get the control arms pulled out as far as the could go, get some new ball joints put in, and then get a front end alignment and I should good to go, and NOT have to take the spacers out. So I am a good bit relieved to hear that. Once again, I shoulda went to someone I might pay more money to get it done at but woulda got it done right. Im thankful to have some good friends. I should be getting an alignment tomorrow or Monday so Ill let everyone knows the outcome...

For me it's hard to see what's going on in those pics, it's never the same as in person. If I were there I could pull the wheel off and take a manly look. But taking it somewhere to have it checked out is a good thing. I think when I get mine I'll pay to have them installed.
That sway bar is definitely loose, I can see it in the pic very plainly.

yea I tried to tighten it and got nowhere, I guess cause everything is stretched it wouldnt tighten anymore. I have to bleed my brake now cus some jackass loosened my brake line and now there is aire in it. Thank you to the ass who did that!

ok, so now I got an alignment and now my steering is fixed but still have the rubbing. I dont really care about it anymore and my attitude toward it is not to get the spacers off so I gonna go back to my buddy in Myrtle Beach and see what else we can look at and any other possible solutions. Ill keep yall informed on it and we will see from there!

Any resolve on the arm / spring rub?

I just had my RB 3/2.5 lift installed and I have the same issue of the arm rubbing the spring.

Also, when I had it aligned the guy said the upper control arm is too short so the wheels are towed in at the top and the tires will ware on the inside. Anyone know about this....?

Thanks,

Paul

This is a newer concern as far as I know. I haven't seen RoadBully on here in 2-3 weeks. Maybe some explorers have different spring rates in the front? I know my X clears 265's without a lift, but some don't.
