Tonite, well actually rite now its snowing like mad and i was back up and drive way which is pretty steep, and i began to spin, so, stopped, i flipped to switch to auto, and proceed up without anytrouble, well i got out and examined the tracks(yes, i'm insane) and i could see where the back tires spun the whole way up, and the fronts didn't? Is the transfer case not working properly, or is this how its suposed to work?

Thanx,
Todd:confused:

BuMp-anyone?

maybe

In 4wd Auto, it will send a small amount of torque to front wheels, most of the torque to the rear. When it senses wheel slip in the form of different driveshaft speeds from the front to rear, it will increase the torque sent to the front in steps, then look to see if slipping is still occurring. If not, it backs off the torque to front. If still slipping it increases torque to front some more.

All these decisions are made in milliseconds, so it may have increased power to front for a fraction of a second to get you going, then backed off, then increased again, then backed off, etc. all the way up the driveway.

You made it up the hill. What more do you want? :D

OK, thanx, i didn't know it slowly increased power, i thought it just sent all 50% to the front when the rear slips. So i guess its working as it should!

When i get my new 31 inch BFG All-terrains, i shouldn't even need 4WD ;)
