In preparing for my future v8 swap I have been looking at sisters 2000 5.0 to learn the differences and gather a parts 'shopping list'. I noticed that the heater hoses are routed differently and it has a coolant by pass valve. My current SOHC lacks this valve. Why is that? It is also present on my 2010 v6 ranger. This entire HAVC/vacuum system has always confused me so if someone could give me an explanation it would be much appreciated. I'm also missing that round vacuum "ball", yet my vehicle is 4 wheel drive-- I've read these 2 things are related? Would I need to add these things when swapping in my 5.0? This seems to be a very overlooked or not-often-talked-about topic which is why I raise these questions.

Thanks in advance.

Check that.... Coolant bypass valve is buried just below and behind the belt tensioner and vacuum canister is under the air box.... Forgive my ignorance lads.
