Ok, I'm new to modular motors. I've built many pushrod 5.0Ls and I've had a lot of time around Mustangs, but I've never dealt with an explorer. I'm losing coolant somewhere. It leaks on the passenger side right under the firewall. It sometimes falls onto my exhaust manifold, I'm also getting a strong coolant smell on cold starts. It just started doing this a couple weeks ago, maybe a week and a half. Anybody have any ideas? Cracked overflow tank? Coolant lines, diverter valve(if it has one), any help is good help right now.

4.6

Im guessing you have the 4.6 v8. That said, Ive seen old return hoses that go to the overflow get a crack in them and the leak will run to the area you are talking about. Just a thought. Might look there first.

It's actually the 4.0 v6, sorry, forgot to mention that. That sounds about right. I just need to find where exactly it's coming from now, I will start there.
