alright so i was checking all my fluid levels today and noticed coolant is leaking from the cap on top of the radiator...i have never seen this before. does this mean i need a new radiator or just the cap? any help would be greatly appreciated. FYI it's a 1999 SOHC thanks,

after the truck is cool,,,,make sure the cap is on tight. Take it off and reseat it. If it is still leaking get a cap, they are cheap.

alright well i took it off and put it back on, drove it and got it nice and hot and it's still leaking...not nearly as bad as it was though now its one a drip every once and a while. before it was a constant drip drip drip. so i guess im off to go buy a new cap and see if that will take care of it. i have heard of the plastic tank warping, can this happen? i have never over heated it or anything.

make sure both are clean (wipe out the top of the rad where the gasket seats and wipe off the cap gakets ) could just be gunk built up

I just recently fixed an Intake Manifold leak, and noticed a few drops of coolant.

After examination, I noticed a lead near the top of the cap, replaced it and low and behold, no more lead.

cheapest fix in a long time $8, on a 10+ year old truck
