Where can I get the metal coolant pipe that runs in the valley on the 4.6? The one that is under the intake manifold. I have my engine out and while its out I wanna replace that since mine is looking a bit rusty. I haven't checked the dealer yet. Trying to avoid that route since I'm still not healed up from the **** assault I took buying the TTY bolts for a 4.0 SOHC timing job. Also open to ideas rather than the metal pipe that will inevitably rust out again.
Also I wanna know the same thing about the egr pipe. Found one on tasca but nowhere else.
On the metal coolant pipe, check on youtube -- I saw one video how to replace/bypass it while the manifold is still on -- you might see an alternate idea that works.
I saw that, it was on a crown vic i think. Looks like a bit different setup. I've already got my manifold off for other reasons. I'd like to run the factory style pipe or something similar. I don't wanna do any presidential engineering at this point in the game when I've worked so hard to make everything OE or better thus far.

I've changed many on Tbird and Crown Vics, if the engine is out it should be very accessible. I suggest doing it. On the car the intake may have to come off. I did a quick check and I don't see anything specific to explorers. However, I know Tbird guys use explorer engines as an upgrade and they have issue with the pipe not having a threaded fitting for the Tbird auto climate control lockout (newer cars use the PCM sensor, so it saves $$). You "may" (depending on the intake shape, but very likely) be able to use a regular PI tube, 3W7Z-18663-BA. You could always have a local parts store order it and compare. You can always be creative with heater hose.
Part is around $30. There are also 29 cent o rings at the pump nipple that you should replace. FEL-PRO 413. Rockauto has them. They are expensive at the dealer.
Pull the intake manifold, the tube runs from the rear of the waterpump location in the block (2 o-rings on the nipple in the block), and all the way to the heater core inlet on the firewall. The tube (coolant crossover tube) is just a pressure fit on the nipple at the block. Be careful not to cut the o-rings upon reinstallation (experience).
