Anyone running one? I've noticed a lot of crud in my cooling system after my engine rebuild and want to make sure it's clean. My moron machinist did a horrible job cleaning things up apparently. I was thinking of running a radiator filter and a heater core filter. Hopefully it's not too late.

Does anyone have one they recommend or have had good luck with?

I like the way this one works because you don't have to remove the hose to clean it. Anyone ever used this kind of a filter?

There's also this type which looks pretty nice, but would require making a huge mess every time you want to clean it.

Then the third option, expensive but probably most effective, however you cannot see how clogged this filter is, you just have to change it.

Any time I've put a cooling system cleaner in I've used the foot of pantyhose as a filter.
I works a bit like the 2nd picture.

It makes sort of a bag that sits about 6 inches down the radiator hose so when it fills there isn't any obstruction.

I suppose that's not what you're looking for?

I'm looking for something that won't tear and that can stay in a while. This system is probably going to need to be run a few thousand miles before most of this rust scale is out of it. It's almost like sand is in there too. Definitely going to have to be constantly cleaning the filter. My upper rad hose is just coated in dirt/rust it seems. All the junk the machine shop never cleaned out. Or hell, got into my engine by tanking it with old solution.
