coolant temp gauge not working

i know this is a few days old, but my gauge wasnt working either. it would barely move, never even getting to the "C" mark
... replaced the thermstat, and now the gauge seems good as new.
my only guess is if the water doesnt circulate, tha the gauge sensor just sits in cold water.

Welcome to this forum! Did you replace the correct sensor? One sensor is for the computer, and the other is for the gauge. Ground the wire to see if the gauge goes all of the way up. If it doesn't, then it's either the wiring or the gauge.
