2007 Explorer V6.
Had the typical leaky thermostat housing, so replaced it with a metal one.
Put temperature sensor back in and used OEM spring clip.
A few days later smoke starts billowing out from under the hood: temp sensor had popped out.
Put back in and secure with clip...Next day, same thing.
I know this is a semi-common issue as I've found a fair amount of posts about it, but no one writes about a fix thats worked....I'm wondering if maybe the sensor hole in the new housing is maybe just a millimeter too wide and thats giving the sensor enough space to pop out under load...
I'm going to try using a new clip and sensor, but if that doesn't work, was thinking of just epoxy/superglue'ing it in there.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance!
